Here at Kent Wildlife Trust, local action leads to global change; our vision is for a better, wilder future. By downloading the fundraising resources below, you will be protecting wildlife in Kent as well as helping to tackle the climate and nature crises.
Wildlife provides important services for us all including the food we eat, the water we use and drink and the oxygen we breathe. Engaging with nature also works wonders for our wellbeing. Research states that nature positively influences the mental health of children and teenagers. Caring for our environment can also provide a big sense of pride!
Wildlife can be used to cover the school curriculum in more ways than you think: science (plants and animals), literacy (creative writing), maths (measuring), art (photography), PSHE and more! Young people can also connect with nature to learn outside of the classroom, building an understanding of social responsibility and improving attitude and respect for the environment. At Kent Wildlife Trust, we can help you incorporate wildlife into your curriculum through various activities (find out more on our Education webpage).
Fundraising also provides a lesson in itself: it gives an insight to the importance of money, fundraising and enterprise.

Before things get wild, please make sure you complete a risk assessment. If you need help with this, visit www.hse.gov.uk for more information. It will help you to identify any hazards and make sure your fundraising journey is smooth. If your event is on private land (workplaces, schools, community groups), make sure you have the landowner’s permission. It is unlikely that you’ll need a licence.
Contact your local authority for a licence if you’d like to hold your event on public land (parks and streets).
Please assess whether you require public liability cover for your event. Our insurance policy does not cover externally run events and we cannot be held responsible for any accidents or injuries. It is your responsibility to ensure everyone’s safety so that everyone has the best time!
Remember to be kind to our furry friends and pal-ants. Consider the environment in your planning and avoid harming our precious wildlife.
