Nature Tots – outdoor adventures for 2–5 year olds
Nature Tots is a relaxed Forest School-inspired group for toddlers and preschoolers (aged 2–5). Each week your child can explore nature through activities like bug hunting, den building, crafts and free play — all guided by experienced Forest School leaders.
Sessions help children:
🌿 build confidence outdoors
🐞 discover wildlife and nature
🎨 enjoy creative nature crafts
🤝 make friends with other families
Parents learn with their child, so you can explore together and enjoy the outdoors as a family.
What happens at Nature Tots?
A typical session may include:
- 🔎 Nature exploration (bug hunting, leaf collecting)
- 🪵 Simple woodland skills (building dens, balancing logs)
- 🎨 Nature crafts to take home
- 🔥 Seasonal activities
- 🌳 Free play and exploration
Sessions are child-led, so toddlers can join activities at their own pace.
Cost
You can try Nature Tots with a taster session for £9.75 to see if it’s right for you and your child. For the best value, we recommend booking a full 6-week term, which works out at just £9 per session. Watch
With a variety of investigation, construction, art and craft activities on offer, children gain a sense of achievement, leading their own learning as much as possible, with help from accompanying adults. Watch previous participants talk about what they love about Nature Tots in this video.

The programme was as excellent fun, my little boy really enjoyed it. The difference in his confidence playing outside at the last session compared to the first was really evident. I really liked the relaxed atmosphere of the sessions so as a parent I didn't feel pressured if my child didn't want to take part in anything and he was able to enjoy the experience in his own way.Parent feedback
[Cleo] loves every session we attend. Anna runs the sessions brilliantly and is very understanding if the toddlers feel the need to explore or snack instead of following the activities. There's at least one take-home craft each week. We look forward to coming back next term.
Leonora and Jo have been wonderful. Despite freezer weather and rain they’ve made every week fun and engaging for the children.
