  • Location: Tyland Barn, Maidstone

Can you spare time to support our Fundraising and Membership team?

Why do we need you?

At Kent Wildlife Trust we rely on philanthropic donations to support the delivery of our work. Whether we're managing nature reserves, educating children, or investing in the restoration of species, all funds needed are raised by our small but dedicated team.

Our team are seeking volunteers to help as we connect with our community of supporters and would be delighted to meet with you to discuss how you could help.

What will you be doing?

Membership: We're looking for support to steward our 32,000 members, such as:

  • Welcome Calls - Phoning new joiners, welcoming them to the Trust and answering any KWT questions they may have
  • Cancellation calls - when someone doesn't renew it's important for us to understand why so that we can improve our systems and services. We aim to give a courtesy call to all cancellations to thank them for their support and ask if they're able to share why.
  • Administration - posting letters, packaging welcome packs or sending wild flower seeds and birthday cards to members. These tasks are central to letting members know how important they are to us.

Fundraising: We run public appeals, work with corporates and thank every individual donor to the trust. The support we're looking for includes:

  • Events - Sometimes we're invited to community events, sometimes to corporate. These can involve hosting a stall about KWT or representing the Trust when an organisation has finished raising funds and invite us to their celebratory event.
  • Administration - such as posting letters, corporate certificates of membership or sending Christmas cards. These tasks help us to thank each donor, and retain their valuable support.
