As part of the Wilder Blean Festival, try out Forest Bathing as a way to connect to the woodland with this introductory session.
Forest bathing encourages you to take your experience in nature to a new level. Inspired by the Japanese practice of Shinrin Yoku, meditative walking supports your wellbeing by helping you to switch off and connect with your natural environment.
As part of the Wilder Blean Festival, celebrating the inspiring woodland landscape of the Blean, this introductory session gives you the chance to try the practice for yourself. Regular attendees of Louise's Forest Bathing events are very welcome, but this session will be particularly aimed at people trying it for the first time or who may have been hesitant to join an event before. Come and discover if it's for you!
Louise, from Kent Wildlife Trust's Wellbeing Team, will be your Forest Bathing guide. We'll be walking slowly and may stop to sit on the ground or trees, so please bring layers to keep you warm and something waterproof. Walking boots are recommended as we're exploring woodland, and it's best to be hands free- so pack light with a small backpack.
