Forest Bathing in the Blean: Finding Healing in Nature for Grief Support offers a gentle, grounding space for anyone navigating loss. This event is offered on a donation basis, as we understand that accessing support during times of grief can feel financially challenging.
This Forest Bathing event invites people into the woodlands, where slowing down, noticing the senses, and reconnecting with the natural world can create moments of calm in the midst of grief.
Rather than focusing on talking or analysing emotions, this experience uses the soothing presence of trees, birdsong, and stillness to help soften the intensity of loss. Participants move at an unhurried pace, guided to notice small details, breathe more deeply, and feel supported by the landscape around them. Many people find that nature provides a kind of companionship that asks nothing of them yet offers comfort, steadiness, and a sense of being held.
This session is designed to help people find ease, spaciousness, and gentle healing without pressure, expectation, or the need to “be okay.” It’s simply an opportunity to rest, reconnect, and let nature support the grieving process in its own quiet way.
You will be guided through Thornden Woods by Louise, a Forest Bathing Practitioner, from Kent Wildlife Trust's Wellbeing Team.
We'll be walking slowly and may stop to sit on the ground or trees, so please bring layers to keep you warm and something waterproof. Walking boots are recommended as we're exploring woodland, and it's best to be hands free- so pack light with a small backpack.
