Engage with the natural world in a mindful and creative way at Crafting with Nature.
About the event
Crafting with Nature invites you to engage with the natural world in a mindful and creative way. Using simple tools, and nature as your inspiration, you'll feel the benefits of creating outdoors in the inspiring surroundings of West Blean and Thornden Woods.
Different craft skills, techniques and activities will be available at each event, so you'll have the freedom to choose one longer project or a combination of quicker ones, something you know you enjoy or have never tried before, and to craft your own piece or work with other members of the group.
Each event will be led by a member of Kent Wildlife Trust's Wellbeing Team and will start with a gentle walk to notice nature and collect some natural items. We'll then start crafting, with activities such as leaf bashing, dream catcher making, natural tie dying and working with textures from rubbings.
You're welcome to attend an individual event, or join us regularly to develop your skills and embrace wellness as part of your routine.
All the materials and tools you'll need will be provided. Remember we'll be outdoors, so come dressed for the weather and wear comfortable footwear for walking.
