We are looking for volunteers to assist us with the running of our public-facing events. You will be helping with the setting up of the events, as well as assisting with activities on the day, including talking to members of the public about the projects and running activities for children.
We are looking for friendly and outgoing volunteers who can offer a little spare time. You do not need to be a wildlife expert as we will provide support and information throughout your volunteering experience. Volunteers must be over 16 and confident to talk to members of the public.
Our events take place on different days throughout the year and at different locations in the Dover area. We are currently looking for volunteers to assist with our Spring and Summer events (see the project Facebook page for upcoming one-off events as well as some of the regular events) according to your availability.
For more information please contact the Dover office on 01622 357883 or 07522 224487 or email the team.
About our projects
- The Hill at the Heart Project is a three-year project, led by Kent Wildlife Trust, which aims to restore species-rich chalk grassland and promote responsible use of the Old Park Hill nature reserve by engaging with the local communities. The project started in January 2016 and is funded by the Big Lottery Fund Reaching Communities.
- The Dover Connector Programme aims to engage local people with nature through the use of local nature reserves: High Meadow and Nemo Down, both home to very rare chalk grassland and a wide diversity of wildlife. The Programme also works with people in their communities delivering nature-themed activities and various social events.
