Join us at Nature Tots for playgroup gone wild
Exciting plans are afoot for 2019. We’re developing wildlife-themed fun family-focused activities to encourage as many people as possible to go outdoors and immerse themselves in Kent’s wonderful natural world.
We plan to launch a Nature Tots wild playgroup in Spring 2019 for pre-school children and their parents and carers.
Nature Tots is based on Forest School, specifically for pre-school age children. It’s a wonderful opportunity for little ones to explore, discover and learn from nature and gain a sense of achievement from a variety of nature, art and craft-based activities.
Children are encouraged to lead their own learning, doing as much for themselves as possible with help from accompanying adults, great for problem-solving, communication, creativity and physical development. Growing up with fun experiences in wild spaces can help inspire a love of nature that lasts a lifetime.
Nature Tots is den-building, stick-whittling, fire-building and marshmallow-toasting time outside, and is based on Forest School principles.
Forest School activities are proven to improve children’s self-esteem, confidence and resilience while developing a true connection with nature from an early age.
We want to ensure this activity is open to as many pre-school children as possible. We’ve put together five short questions to help us with our planning, and would truly value your input. As a thank you for joining in, we’ve got a bird feeder and seed to give away to one randomly-selected respondent.
The survey closes on 7th December.
