Meeting point

Meet outside the Heather Corrie Ranger Station. On the side of the road with the accessible parking, look for the two buildings on your left. The Ranger Station is the second building.

About the event

One of the most famous and enchanting bird sounds of spring, the song of the nightingale is a pleasure to hear.

Join the Area Warden in West Blean woods for an atmospheric evening walk. You'll discover all about these special birds as you enjoy a hot drink, before heading off on a gentle walk into woods to hear the nightingales singing in their scrub habitats. You'll learn how to identify their song, as well as the those of the other birds who fill evenings in the woodland with music.

 

This safari is aimed at an adult audience, 14-17 year olds may attend with an accompanying adult over 18. 

This safari will last approximately 2 hours, and most of the time will be spent walking or standing. Much of the route follows surfaced paths, but these can be muddy. Ensure you wear sturdy footwear (during periods of wet weather waterproof footwear is advisable) and clothing suitable for the weather conditions.
