Our Nature Tots sessions give children under five (and their parents) the chance to explore the outdoors through storytelling, sensory play and mini adventures. It’s where curiosity begins and confidence grows. These early experiences in nature build a foundation of care and wonder that will last a lifetime.
The programme was excellent fun, my little boy really enjoyed it. The difference in his confidence playing outside at the last session compared to the first was really evident. I really liked the relaxed atmosphere of the sessions so as a parent I didn't feel pressured if my child didn't want to take part in anything and he was able to enjoy the experience in his own way.Parent feedback
Home-Ed Forest Explorers

Tailored specially for home-educated children, these Forest School sessions mix creativity and hands-on discovery. The outdoor setting encourages a relationship with the natural world, whilst offering opportunities to learn new and transferable skills. Children learn at their own pace, develop resilience through supported risks and form meaningful relationships with the natural world – and each other.
Holiday Club: School’s out, nature’s in

Our Wilder Holiday Clubs run during school holidays at Maidstone and Sevenoaks and offer a full day of wild, hands-on fun in the great outdoors. From den building and pond dipping to bug hunts and nature-based crafts, these clubs help children unplug from screens, make new friends, and build a real connection with the natural world.
Led by experienced Tutors and designed for ages 5–11, our holiday clubs are a fantastic way to keep young minds and bodies active during the holidays, whatever the weather.
My children had a brilliant time! One of the very few camps they've attended where they really want to come again!Parent feedback
Birthday parties
Looking for a birthday party that’s exciting, memorable, and totally different? Our Wilder Birthday Parties are packed with fun and adventure. Think bug hunts, nature trails, crafts, and campfires. With a range of wild themes to choose from, our Tutors will lead a stress-free party that gets children laughing, learning and loving the outdoors.
We provide the activities and materials, and you just bring the food and cake (and your best singing voice).
Primary Schools: Learning comes alive

We bring the national curriculum to life through our nature-based programmes for primary schools. Whether it’s life cycles, food chains or habitats, our outdoor classrooms offer immersive, engaging, hands-on experiences that bring learning to life. These sessions take place at our education centres, situated at the heart of nature, either at Sevenoaks Wildlife Reserve (also a SSSI) or at our HQ, Tyland Barn Nature Park and Gardens. Each year, we reach over 4,000 children between Sevenoaks and Tyland Barn through our primary school visits.
This was our second visit after being very impressed last year. The students loved learning and being out in nature, and Bella and Anna are amazing. Really great!School feedback
Secondary Schools: Building skills and stewardship

Robert Canis
We offer two unique sessions for both GCSE and A-Level students, focusing on the groundbreaking Wilder Blean project which saw the introduction of bison, along with pigs, ponies and cattle, to the Blean woodlands as a way of habitat restoration and management.
In this GCSE workshop held at West Blean and Thornden Woods, learners will investigate succession in the Blean, using transects to measure species abundance and analysing the potential impacts of the wilder grazers in the Blean. For A-level students, they’ll understand how the carbon captured in the woodland will change with the introduction of bison.
Forest School for groups and taster sessions

Forest School is where learning comes alive in the heart of the woods. It’s not about sitting at desks or staring at whiteboards. At Kent Wildlife Trust, our Forest School sessions give children the chance to explore, discover and grow in a safe, natural setting.
Forest School helps children understand their place in the natural world. It sparks a sense of wonder, encourages care for the planet, and nurtures skills they’ll carry for life - from teamwork and communication to creativity and critical thinking.
Educational outreach: We bring the wild to you
Can’t get to us? No problem! Our Tutors can visit schools and community venues across Kent to deliver tailored, hands-on nature learning, bringing all the same excitement, energy and wild experiences straight to your doorstep.
Blue Influencer Scheme

Our Blue Mentor, Jenny Luddington, works with young people aged 10-14 in the Dover and Folkestone area on the Blue Influencers Project – a ground-breaking project which aims to support young people from underserved communities and those living in deprived coastal, estuary and riverside locations by empowering them to tackle environmental and climate challenges. Jenny's role is to recruit teams of Blue Influencers and support them in creating social action projects on blue issues close to their heart. The project is child-led and community focussed and is yielding excellent results.
Wilder Kent Awards: Celebrating action for nature

Our Wilder Kent Awards recognise and celebrate schools, youth groups, and communities who are taking real action to support wildlife and tackle the nature crisis in their communities. Through a series of achievable steps to work up to the coveted Gold Wilder Kent Award, participants are encouraged to make space for nature, raise awareness, and share their impact.
Last year, we had 87 winning groups with 16,000 people being recorded as having taken action for nature as part of the awards.
But we can’t do it without you
All of this is subsidised to make sure it’s accessible to every child, every family, every school. But that’s only possible if we can continue to raise the vital funds needed to support it.
We need your help - right now - to keep inspiring the next generation. Because without them, nature has no future.
Imagine a Kent where children grow up disconnected from the land beneath their feet. Where nature becomes a stranger. Where there’s no one left to fight for wildlife, because no one remembers what it was like to fall in love with it.
That’s not a future we want to see.

Will you help?
