West Kent Practical Team Volunteer

Location: Tasks at a handful of reserves across West Kent; Heather Corrie Vale, Quarry Wood, Brenchley and The Gill.

Location: Kent Wide
  • Day: Fridays, with occasional Monday and Wednesdays

  • Frequency: Weekly

  • Commitment: as frequently as you like.

What do you need?

  • No previous experience required
  • Willingness to work outside in all weathers
  • Suitable clothing and footwear

Commitment

  • Tasks run on Fridays with occasional Mondays and Wednesdays from 10.00AM - 3.00PM
  • Come as frequently as you like

Training

No training required but possibility of:

  • Brushcutter
  • First Aid
  • Group Leadership
  •  

Please note: These task days are held on Fridays 10.00AM-3.00PM and you can attend as frequently as you like. This role is only open to applicants over the age of 18.

Autumn/Winter

  • Scrub-cutting
  • Coppicing
  • Regrowth cutting
  • Ride and glade cutting
  • Pond maintenance

 

Spring/summer

  • Footpath maintenance
  • Fencing/repairs
  • Weed control
  • Pond maintenance
  • Wildlife surveys – butterflies, birds, reptiles, bees, small mammals, general flora etc…
