Blean Volunteering Update

The Weald group have been helping to open up areas of Bull Heath nature reserve to allow the lichen heath to thrive and help encourage more wildflowers there. I sent in the pics of the snowy task before for Comms but would be good to share again hopefully. We've pretty much completed all the clearance we wanted to do now, so looking forward to seeing how it develops. The next thing we're going to start on is come coppicing over at Brenchley Wood before the breeding bird season begins.

The Canterbury group (the non-snowy photos) have been helping in South Blean to clear areas of Rhododendron growth that's outcompeting native species of woodland plants from growing. I think Wills Friday Blean volunteers are doing this too and they've all been making great progress.
