Requesting Information

A map of Kent showing the Local Wildlife SitesLocal Wildlife Sites in Kent and Medway

For each Local Wildlife Site (LWS), Kent Wildlife Trust keeps information on the site’s special wildlife interest, a citation, together with a map showing the boundaries of the site.

This information is made available to partners in the Kent Nature Partnership, Local Authorities, and the owner of the site concerned. We will normally also make details available to any other organisation or individual on request, though in these cases, we usually charge an administration cost.

Details of the locations of LWS in Kent may be found in the maps which accompany Local Plans: you will normally find a copy of the Local Plan for your area in the relevant main library. The Kent and Medway Biological Records Centre also keeps details of the boundaries of Local Wildlife Sites and can make these available as part of a requested data search. You can view LWS boundaries plus boundaries for Roadside Nature Reserves, Biodiversity Opportunity Areas, our Nature Reserves, Living Landscape Project areas and Wildlife Gardening Award Scheme postcodes on this web map.
