Hill at the Heart

Heart on the Hill

An exciting new community focused programme in Dover, aiming to reconnect people with the wildlife that lives around them.

Kent Wildlife Trust is working on a major initiative in Dover linked to the Old Park Hill Nature Reserve at Whitfield. This three-year project is funded by the Big Lottery Fund through the Reaching Communities programme. This project is part of the Trust's innovative plan to connect people with their local environment through wildlife conservation.

The project will restore an area of chalk grassland leased from Dover Harbour Board, and provide opportunities for people to enjoy family and group learning activities, improve health and wellbeing in a beautiful outdoor setting, and gain confidence and important life skills through a range of free events, volunteer, training and education programmes.

You can find out more about the project and follow our progress on the Old Park Hill Facebook page.
