Livestock checker volunteer picnics 2022

Volunteer carrying out a livestock check

Livestock Checker Volunteer Picnics 2022

We know that Livestock Checking can be a lonely role that doesn’t have regular social opportunities to meet up like many of our team based roles at KWT.

To this end, we would like to invite all Livestock Checkers to join us on a series of Summer Picnics. Held at one of four of our beautiful nature reserves across Kent; Magpie Bottom, Hothfield Heathlands, Nashenden Downs, or Ham Fen depending on the day you choose.

We will have members of Kent Wildlife Trust staff in attendance from our Volunteer Team, our Grazing Team and Senior Leadership Team to answer those questions. There will be a guided wander round the reserve looking at the unique grazing that is taking place and a chance to share your experiences. Each day will have two sessions to book on to; a morning and afternoon session with an overlapping hour from 12:00 till 13:00 to have lunch and socialise. 15 places will be available at each session and you will need to book a place via Eventbrite.

An email with more details has already been circulated and places are filling up fast! If you have been missed off this mailing list and you are currently a Livestock Checker then please email volunteering@kentwildlife.org.uk

These social days are the first step in trialling social volunteer events after the pandemic. The plan is to host a similar series of KWT Volunteer Social Days at regular intervals across Kent, so watch this space!
