Stone Wood

An ancient woodland site.

Stone Wood is an ancient woodland site, which was clear felled and planted with conifers by the Forestry Commission around the middle of the last century. The conifer crop was cut during the early 1990s and left to regenerate naturally. The Trust acquired the site in 2002 and is trying to encourage the natural regeneration of native plants and the native animals they support.
