About the event
Meet Fackenden Down's reserve warden for a tour of this stunning chalk grassland site. You'll see a range of downland species as well as a host of other flowers and take an in-depth look at their life cycle, reproduction and the vital role which conservation management plays in maintaining area for these rare and beautiful plants.

This safari will last approximately 2 hours and most of the time will be spent walking or standing. Much of the route follows surfaced paths, but these can be muddy. Ensure you wear sturdy footwear (during periods of wet weather waterproof footwear is advisable) and clothing suitable for the weather conditions.
Please note there are no toilet facilities at the reserve, and no refreshments are available to purchase on site. You are welcome to bring your own food and drink with you, a bottle of water is recommended.

Parking at the reserve is on a grassy field- if it has been very wet prior to the event, the car park at Shoreham station is just under a mile from the reserve if you prefer.
