Nature Park Team - Gardening

Our Nature Parks are wildlife havens alongside our Tyland Barn and Sevenoaks Visitor Centres, and we're looking for volunteers to work in these areas

Position details

Monday, Tuesday, Thursday

About the role
We are fortunate to have a well-established wildlife garden which is enjoyed by the school groups and visitors to our Tyland Barn Visitor Centre near Maidstone and at our Sevenoaks Nature Reserve. These beautiful gardens take a lot of upkeep from our highly committed volunteers. Tasks range from grass-cutting, tree clearance, feeding the birds and creating bug homes and working on our pond, all aiming to inspire those who visit us to get involved with wildlife.

You’ll be spending time outside, learning about wildlife and organic gardening and will inspire our visitors to take up wildlife gardening through the variety of tasks you'll be carrying out.

We’re looking for volunteers with an interest in gardening (you do not need to be an expert in wildlife gardening!), who are fit and active to spend time in our garden. You need to be over 18 and have great communication skills with colleagues and members of the public and enjoy working as part of a team. The work in our nature garden is very hands-on and you must be comfortable using hand tools and fit and able to walk around our nature park which does contain uneven ground.
