The Guardians of the Deep project involves local people in the protection and monitoring of Kent’s coastal wildlife and gets young people excited about marine wildlife through a variety of practical learning opportunities at coastal sites around the county. Kent Wildlife Trust has secured funding from the Heritage Lottery Fund to deliver a range of activities and needs Project Tutors to help in the delivery of the activities aimed at young people.
The job: We are looking for people with experience of working with children and young people who would like to share their enthusiasm for wildlife and the marine environment. Your role will be to support the Project Officers in the delivery of WildBeach and/or Undersea Explorer activities.
WildBeach – a programme of inspiring and challenging educational activities delivered at coastal locations around Kent.
Undersea Explorers – exhilarating underwater experiences for children involving snorkelling in swimming pools decorated with marine habitat props.
Tutors will preferably assist with the delivery of both these programmes but could assist with just one.
You: will have a passion for the marine environment and the desire to share this with the young people.
If you feel you have the enthusiasm and capacities to meet the challenge of this role, we would be very interested to hear from you.
