Noticing Nature Paddles
About the event
Join Kent Wildlife Trust and Canoe Wild, taking the time to pause and notice the nature along the river, whilst practicing some simple mindfulness exercises. Connecting with nature has many proven benefits to aid health and wellbeing – this paddle will be a great opportunity to take some time for yourself, and to immerse yourself into the beauty and wildness of the River Stour.
The paddle will take place at the Canoe Wild Fordwich site and last roughly 1.5 hours. You will be kitted out with a buoyancy aid as well as given paddle instruction and a full safety brief. We will then paddle the river in Canadian canoes following the instruction from both a qualified paddle sports instructor as well as the Nature and Wellbeing Officer for Kent Wildlife Trust. We recommend arriving early as this will give us time to get everyone signed in and kitted out with the equipment, including buoyancy aids, dry bags for essentials such as phones, medications etc.
Suitable for beginners mostly, but beneficial for Improvers too
