About the event

The Great British Beach Clean is the biggest beach clean and survey in the UK.

The information volunteers have collected over the last 25 years has helped make some of the most significant impacts on beach litter ever – the plastic bag charge, microplastics banned in personal care products, improved wet wipe labelling, and massive support for a tax on ‘on the go’ plastic single-use items.

But the job's not done yet. We need to gather more and more data to wage war on other types of beach litter, and you can help.

Beach cleans are a fun and easy way for anyone to get involved in looking after the beach. The Guardians of the Deep project and their Coastal Guardian hub groups are running beach cleans all around the Kent coast during this weekend to gather as much data as they can.

All events over the weekend are listed on the Guardians of the Deep events page on their website, please click on the booking link to find a beach clean happening near you!

This is a free event supported by the Heritage Lottery Fund as part of the Guardians of the Deep project.
