Educational opportunities

Programmes of Study

Most of our Education Centres can offer a variety of wildlife activities including:

  • Minibeast hunts
  • Pond Dipping
  • Countryside Trails
  • Habitat investigations
  • Plant Studies
  • Life cycles

Except for Reculver, which is a beach environment and so pond dipping and trail are not available.  However, this is the perfect environment for seashore studies and geology.  Our Education Centre at Sevenoaks can also offer a River Study Day.

Our activities are linked to the National Curriculum and are cross-curricular and can support Maths, English, Creative Writing and all other subjects.  Please call us and ask if you would like further information.

Tyland Barn can take up to 90 children from the same school, but our other centres curently take up to 60 children.

Story Days

We currently offer the following story days at Tyland Barn.  These days are suitable for Pre-school and KS1 children.

  • Little Red Hen
  • Very Hungry Caterpillar
  • Bad Tempered Ladybird
  • Town Mouse and Country Mouse

These are wildlife days based around a popular children's story.  We are hoping to introduce other Story Days at Sevenoaks in the near future.

Key Stage 3/4 and post 16

At all our Education Centres, specialist tutors can offer activities matched to the National curriculum and your scheme of work to suit your students' needs.
