Fantastic News for Romney Marsh!

KWT have been successful in a bid for funding to HLF for the ‘Fifth Continent Romney Marsh Landscape Partnership Scheme’ on Romney Marsh. KWT have been leading this exciting initiative with partners, communities, volunteers and members across the Marsh.

The Scheme includes the restoration and protection of rare habitats including ditches and vegetated shingle, an exciting programme of community engagement activities and community archaeology, work to protect the iconic heritage of the Marsh churches and lookers huts, a Fifth Continent of Film community project, funding for species monitoring and citizen science and a programme of over fifty trainee and apprenticeship opportunities for young people on the Marsh.

You can also download the useful documents through the links below. The summary highlights the Scheme themes of ‘restore’, ‘rediscover’ and ‘reclaim’ and the projects that fall under them. The presentation provides an overview of the Scheme. Efforts made through the Scheme will also help support the local Living Landscape.

Thank you

The success of this project has been due to the hard work and commitment of KWT staff over several years - in turn, this would not have been possible without the support of our members - so to you, from us a big thank you.
