Biological Record Centres
Over the last few decades, a network of local biological records centres have been developed across the country with the aim of collecting, collating, storing and disseminating biological information.
This information is made available to local authorities and planners, industry, conservation organisations, academics, local naturalists and the general public. With the opening of the Kent & Medway Biological Records Centre (KMBRC) at Tyland Barn, near Maidstone, everyone in the County can now help to safeguard their local wildlife simply by contributing biological records.
