Stockbury Hill Wood

The reserve is about 5 hectares in size and located near the A249 and  1½ miles (2.4 km) from the M2. 

On some maps the reserve referred to as Stock Hill Wood.

The wood consists mainly of yew, hornbeam and oak, with some beech. The reserve has four species of orchid: bird’s nest, butterfly, lady and fly. It also supports colonies of holly blue and orange tip butterflies.

Please note: Access to the site is only allowed by prior arrangement with the warden at Tyland Barn.
