Ivy Hatch

OS Map 188 TQ 587547 : Nr Borough Green
Post code: TN15 0PA

At less than a hectare of wet woodland, this is one of the Trust’s smallest reserves, about ½ mile (0.8 km) north of Ivy Hatch, near Ightham.

Several streams run through Ivy Hatch and as a result there are many wetland plants. The American skunk-cabbage has spread considerably; sphagnum moss grows in several areas, and there are numerous common spotted-orchids. The wood is formed mainly of sallows, alder, hazel and oak on the drier parts. A circular trail with boardwalks gives access to visitors but the path can be rather wet at times.
