Kent Wildlife Trust manages six reserves within the area, stretching from the largest of the Trusts nature reserves situated on the estuary of the River Stour between Sandwich and Pegwell Bay out towards the ancient woodlands of Yockletts Bank near Ashford.

Sandwich & Pegwell Bay

Covering some 635 hectares the reserve, is divided into three sections: Pegwell Bay, the Central Section and Buffer Zone to the south of the river Stour.

 

Ham Fen

Location: Only accessible via prior arrangement with KWT

30 hectares of old fenland and agriculturally damaged wet grassland with dykes and ditches, near Sandwich.
