Dover Area Practical Conservation Volunteers

We're looking for new volunteers to join our team working on our Reserves in the Dover area to make a difference to wildlife.

Our regular task days in the Dover area offer opportunities for everyone to get involved and spend time outdoors making a difference to wildlife.  You'll work with our Reserve Warden Karen carrying out lots of different tasks including path clearing, coppicing, monitoring and other activities relating to the management of our reserves.

This is a great way to spend time outside, meeting new people, improve your health and learn about the wildlife habitats we can offer.  Our task days are on Tuesdays, which take place at various Dover sites and Thursdays on our Old Park Hill Reserve.  The task days start around 10am and finish about 3pm, and we're happy for volunteers to join us for half days too. You'll need to be physically fit, and able to walk around our reserves, which can be uneven, and wearing weather appropriate clothes is an absolute must!   Those attending for a full day volunteering with us should bring their lunch and drinks with them in the summer months; in the winter months we can make the most of our bonfires and provide hot drinks for volunteers.  We are able to reimburse reasonable travel expenses for our volunteers.

Dover area reserves include Lydden Temple Ewell, Old Park Hill, Nemo Down and Dover Castle.
