Hill at the Heart

An exciting community-focused programme in the Dover area, aiming to reconnect people with the wildlife that lives around them and improve local well being.

Kent Wildlife Trust is hard at work on a major initiative in Dover linked to the Old Park Hill Nature Reserve. This three-year project is funded by the Big Lottery Fund through the Reaching Communities programme. This project is part of the Trust's innovative plan to connect people with their local environment through wildlife conservation.

Restoring chalk grassland

The project is restoring an area of chalk grassland leased from Dover Harbour Board, and providing opportunities for people to enjoy family and group learning activities, improve health and wellbeing in a beautiful outdoor setting, and gain confidence and important life skills through a range of free events, volunteer, training and education programmes.
