Category 1: Fauna

This category covers all animals - mammals, birds, reptiles and insects that can be found on the nature reserves run by Kent Wildlife Trust (KWT). Any display of unusual behaviour will score extra points over straight portrait shots.

A minimum entry fee of £10 is required.

  • 1st Place: Velbon Tripod. Photography Day worth £200
  • 2nd Place: Craghoppers Voucher (Outdoor clothing voucher) plus photography day worth £150.
  • 3rd Place: Photography Day worth £100
 Category 2: Flora

This category covers all of the plants, flowers, trees and fungi that can be found on the nature reserves run by KWT. The judges will be looking for the most creative shots.

A minimum entry fee of £10 is required.

  • 1st Place: Tamrac Camera Bag plus  Photography Day worth £200
  • 2nd Place: Craghoppers Voucher plus Photography Day worth £150
  • 3rd Place: Photography Day worth £100
Category 3: Landscape, coastline and people

This category is for images of landscapes on the reserves themselves. Coastline images are not restricted to KWT reserves but must be in Kent. The inclusion of people enjoying the reserves will also be welcome. Again, the judges will be looking for creativity.

A minimum entry fee of £10 is required.

  • 1st Place: Steiner Binoculars plus Photography Day worth £200
  • 2nd Place: Craghoppers Voucher plus Photography Day worth £150
  • 3rd Place: Photography Day worth £100
Category 4: Junior (any of the subjects in categories 1 to 3)

This category’s subject is open, but must be taken on a KWT reserve and entrants must be age17 or under on the closing date. The judges will be looking for imaginative images.

Junior entries are free.

  • 1st Place: Crumpler Camera Bag plus Photography Day worth £200
  • 2nd Place: Craghoppers Voucher plus Photography Day worth £150
  • 3rd Place: Photography Day worth £100
