Swale shines for celebration of Wildlife
Over 500 nature lovers basked in glorious late summer sunshine at Oare Marshes nature reserve, on the Swale Estuary over the weekend.
‘This is Your Wildlife’ was the last in a series of outdoor events in the calendar to celebrate Kent Wildlife Trust’s 50th anniversary.

Visitors to the free event enjoyed a wealth of wildlife in their natural habitats. Highlights included guided walks by wildlife experts, small mammal identification tours, and wildlife photography sessions. Youngsters took part in a range of art and craft activities.
Organiser, Amanda Hamley, said: “This was a rare opportunity for families and enthusiasts alike to appreciate the splendour of wildlife on their doorstep at an internationally important nature reserve.
“Oare Marshes provided a fitting venue and climax to what has proved to be a very successful programme of anniversary events this summer.”
