Eggheads aid wildlife
Eighty quiz fanatics helped raise nearly £1,000 towards protecting the county’s precious wildlife when Kent Wildlife Trust held its annual ‘Wisdom for Wildlife’ event on Saturday at Lenham Community Centre.
ITV Meridian’s sports presenter, Iain McBride, was quizmaster and compere for the evening.
The winners of the prestigious ‘Wise Owls’ trophy were The Optimists from Snodland with a creditable 96 out of a possible 120 points. There were trophies too for 2nd and 3rd places as well as the much prized ‘Snail’ for last place.
Event organiser, Amanda Hamley, said: “The teams seemed to have a thoroughly good time and we are delighted that the total raised has topped last year’s figure.”
