They are the first to pledge to the Trust’s New Year, New Challenge initiative that aims to raise £20,000 for 2010.

The Trust is urgently seeking anyone - from plumbers to pensioners, vicars to vets - to rise up to the ‘challenge of a lifetime’ and take part in its New Year, New Challenge fundraising events.

Sponsored events take place throughout the year and range from walking and running to cycling and flying. All proceeds will go towards making a better environment for both the community and its wildlife.

Amanda Hamley, Community Fundraising & Events Manager for Kent Wildlife Trust, said: “Taking part in a challenge event is a fantastic way to help your local wildlife while really achieving a personal goal - be it getting fit or overcoming a fear!”
