Bring Wildlife Back to Your Garden
Kent Wildlife Trust is aiming to inspire Kent’s residents to improve their gardens for wildlife and the environment. ‘Wild about Gardens’, an interactive exhibition, is now coming to the Tyland Barn Visitor Centre in Maidstone following a successful stint at the Romney Marsh Visitor Centre.
The free, fun and family friendly hands-on displays show how easy it is to transform a garden, patio or balcony into a magnet for wildlife.
Among the features are a demonstration kitchen garden, dustbin lid pond, miniature meadow and a wormery. Find out how to make your own wildlife friendly pond and how to transform the look of your compost bin!
For seasoned gardeners there are helpful hints and tips - from growing organically to home composting and wormeries - and plenty of information on which plants will attract the wildlife that will benefit gardens.
The exhibition is running at Tyland Barn Visitor Centre, Sandling, Maidstone from the 15th May -14th July and on to Sevenoaks Visitor Centre from 24th July - 5th September. It will also be visiting the Kent County Show at the Detling Showground, near Maidstone from 16th - 18th July.
